(1) Lighted Candles of Caring: (idea credited to PASD teacher / community members)
Put a lighted candle or battery operated lantern on your home front porch or steps Friday evening, 12/21/12, 6–7 PM. This would show our support throughout the Palmyra community – and beyond to other parts of Lebanon County.
(2) Candles Across Lebanon County: (requested by Jo Ellen Litz, Lebanon County Commissioner) Friday evening, 12/21/12, 6-7 PM, Route 422, Lebanon County
This night, we will show our love for people who are grieving in CT. Lebanon County will stand as one, love our children, and grieve along with those at Sandy Hook in Newtown. Bring your own candle and one for a neighbor. Also, consider battery operated candles or a glow stick for children or if it is windy. If you own property along Route 422, consider luminaries to light the path. Points of Light will be from County Line to County Line--Myerstown to Palmyra.

(3) Open Forum for Parents: (requested by Quittie Glen Center for Mental Health, 417 Reigert’s Lane, Annville)
Open forum (free) for parents, Friday, 12/21/12, 7:30-9 PM, (geared for adult discussion, space is limited)
Dr. John A. Biever, child psychiatrist, is volunteering to hold a free open discussion for parents living in the Lebanon County. Dr. Biever will provide an overview of the signs of distress, anxiety, and depression that may occur for parents and children as they process the events that are being publicized. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions about how to talk to their children about the horrific events and provide support to one another during this time of healing.
