Stand Up for Public Education!

Dear Parents:

At this moment....Let's create a movement. Public education and our schools are under attack and now, more than ever, we believe parents and other public education stakeholders must come together with a shared voice and proclaim their successes. Anti-public education advocates are advancing legislation in Harrisburg, like taxpayer-funded tuition vouchers, that will take money away from your local schools to help pay for the private or parochial education of other students. It's time for you to stand up for public education and to tell your school's story. It's time for you to share your student successes!

We can assist you in spreading the good news through PSBA's "Stand Up for Public Education" campaign. As public school parents, we believe that you have the desire for your voices to be heard and that we have resources and tools to help you share the good news about your neighborhood schools and your "standout" students with your legislators, media and other community members. We will provide all the resources needed to help you counter the few vocal critics who portray our local schools and children as failing. We know nothing could be further from the truth!

Please feel free to contact me, Karen Devine at karen.devine@psba.org or call me at (800) 932-0588, ext. 3322 if you would like my assistance in starting the movement in your school. Be sure to view the DVD on YouTube and SchoolTube and share it at a future PTO meeting.

Your leadership as a active parent advocate for your neighborhood school is critical – now more than ever. We are counting on you to communicate to your legislators, the media, and the community the truth about your school's successes. Thank you for telling your story!
